Kamal’s Vishwaroopam had come under fire by a section of religious groups who stated that the film was hurting their sentiments. But one of the most striking features of the film was that the protagonist, played by Kamal himself, was a devout Indian Muslim, Wissam Ahmad Kashmiri, serving the nation as part of its intelligence network.

Now the latest piece of information emerging from the camp of Ameerin Aadhi Bhagavan is that in this film too the hero, Jayam Ravi, will be portrayed as a sincere Muslim. Jayam Ravi’s character will apparently go by the name Afsar Hussain, and he plays a fearless CBI officer in the movie.

Now that ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam has finally hit the screens in Tamil Nadu and has been declared a super hit, some shocking revelations are coming through. Speaking strictly on condition of anonymity, sources close to Kamal say that the threat meted out by the star was a ‘calculated one’ and which was going to become a reality in future.

The ‘Moving out of Tamil Nadu’ threat was meant mainly to ‘prepare’ the fans and the people to be ready for the eventuality wherein Kamal would have to be away from the state/country for at least the next 2-3 years as he is all set to commence his first-ever Hollywood venture shortly. By meting out the threat, Kamal was only conveying (albeit indirectly) that he would invariably be out of the country for a long time, it is pointed out.

The Hollywood venture is likely to make Kamal stay in U.S. for a longer period as unlike the practice in Kollywood or Bollywood, Hollywood films take too long time to complete. The pre-production work, shooting schedule, the post-production work, publicity and the process of promoting the film, etc. are expected to keep Kamal busy at least for the next two years from now.

Kamal has ‘brilliantly’ prepared the ground (for a longer stay abroad) during the pre-release crisis which resulted in the delayed release of Vishwaroopam in Tamil Nadu. It is also said that in order to make his stay in U.S. a peaceful one, he went over the board in depicting U.S. as a peace-loving country in the script of Vishwaroopam and this explains the ‘theme’ of an Indian spy going out of the way to save U.S.

Whatever be the case, we shall only be too happy if Kamal’s Hollywood venture bags him the coveted Oscars!

Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, Pandiraj’s next comedy treat, starring Vemal and Siva Karthikeyan is likely to release in April, suggest reports. The multi-starrer, which also features Regina Cassandra, Bindu Madhavi and Parotta Soori, was earlier speculated to be a February release. But the upcoming exam season might not give a chance for college and school goers to enjoy the film in theaters, and hence this move.

The film is being produced by Pandiraj’s Pasanga Productions and Madan’s Escape Artiste Motion Pictures and Studio Green will be distributing it.

The remake of the original Rajinikanth-starrer Thillu Mullu Rajnikanth directed by K Balachander, which has Shiva and Isha Talwar in the lead directed by Badri of Veerappu fame is in the final stagesof it’s shooting. The film has been proceeding at a brisk pace with Prakash Raj and Kovai Sarala playing prominent roles.

Parotta Suri, Ilavarasu and Manobala play supporting roles in the film which has legendary music composer M S Viswanathan and Yuvan Shankar Raja scoring the music, the first time the duo will be working together. Prakash Raj will be replacing the character of late Thengai Srinivasan, who played the role in the original.

Vijay Fans Celebrate Nanban at Udhayan Theater, Chennai

At the Udayam Theatre in Chennai, that screened Nanban, a large group of fans carried the Reel Box of ‘Nanban’ mounted in a chariot from the nearby temple to the theatre premises. Vijay’s father SA Chandrashekar participated in this pooja and the Reel Box was finally handed over to the theatre owners for screening.
