Rajinikanth , Kamal hassan back in action

Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth may soon star together in a film that is to be directed by Shankar. Kamal had said in a function recently that he may share the screen space with his buddy Rajinikanth. This gives rise to the speculation that Rajini and Kamal may join hands and the day is not far off!

Director Shankar apparently has a script ready for the duo and an announcement will most probably be made on January 14, 2012.

Since Kochadaiyaan is to be made on the ‘Performance Capturing’ technology, Rajini’s call sheet will be required for just about 20 days. After this shooting schedule is done with, Shankar is expected to begin his project.

Two big audio launches on same day!

Two big audio launches Vijay’s Shankar directed Nanban and Dhanush’s 3 are taking place on the same day- December 23.

Nanban audio launch is taking place in Coimbatore while 3 audio will be held in Chennai.

Gemini Film Circuit’s Nanban to be marketed by Gemini Audio will happen at Hindustan College grounds in Coimbatore.

The audio will be unveiled during Harris Jayaraj’s music concert, ‘On The Edge’.

The audio launch will happen before the concert begins and is likely to be for 90 minutes.

Aishwarya Dhanush’s 3 audio is to be launched by Sony Music.

The exact details about location and time are being kept under the wraps. It will be a musical event that will rock the city.

The grapevine has it that 3 audio launch rights have been snapped up by Sun TV at a new record price, as far as audio launch telecast rights are concerned.

Vada Chennai team on location hunt

National award winning director Vettrimaran is all set to start his next project Vada Chennai soon. Simbu, Telugu star Rana Dagubatti and Andreah have been roped in to play prominent roles in the film. There are also reports that the director is currently holding talks with three leading heroes in Kollywood and an official announcement is expected soon. Meanwhile the Vada Chennai team is on a location hunt now; they are trying to shortlist few unexplored places across the city for their film.

Sources say this film will narrate the story of a good fisherman who unwittingly falls in the trap of a mafia gang. As usual, this Vettrimaran flick will be set in the bylanes of Chennai with a realistic touch. The technical team comprises of Velraj (camera), G.V. Prakash (music) and Kishore (editing).

Vada Chennai will be produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine Movies.

Kochadaiyaan’ shooting schedule

The shooting of Superstar Rajinikanth’s forthcoming film ‘Kochadaiyaan’ will start in the second week of January 2012 (post Pongal) and will be completed by the end of March. This has been confirmed by K S Ravikumar, who is supervising the film.

Besides penning the story, screenplay and dialogues, Ravikumar, the lucky mascot of the Superstar, is also assisting Rajini’s daughter Soundarya Ashwin in directing the movie. “Rajini sir is so impressed with the story,” he says.

Ravikumar adds: “The script work is completely over. The film will hit the floors after January 15 and will be wrapped by March. It will be one of the landmark movies in the history of Tamil cinema and will be a treat to the Superstar’s fans.”

The director of ‘Nattamai’, ‘Padayappa’ and ‘Dasavatharam’ also clears the air by saying that a serial that is being published by a Tamil weekly under the name ‘Kochadaiyaan’ has no connection with the story of the Superstar starrer.
